Annual Events

Throughout the school year, the Hutsell staff, in partnership with the PTA and community sponsors, host a variety of family events. Below are some of our annual traditions.

  • Fall Block Party/ CATCH Night: In October, our PBIS and CATCH committees will host an evening of games and fun promoting our House System and Healthy Living.
  • Pumpkin Extravaganza: In October, the library hosts a family project promoting literacy where they design a pumpkin to look like a favorite book character.
  • STEAM Night: Once a year, our Title 1 teachers partner with the staff to host an evening of STEAM activities that promote Science, Mathematics, and the Arts.
  • Literacy Night: Once a year, our Title 1 teachers and librarian partner with staff to host an evening centered around the importance of Reading and Writing in our day to day lives.
  • 4th Grade Veteran's Day Performance: In November, our music teachers sponsor a 4th grade patriotic performance honoring current and past members of the armed forces.
  • 5th Grade Winter Performance: In December, our music teachers sponsor a 5th grade winter performance to celebrate the end of the first semester with some favorite songs.
  • Winter Jubilee: In December, the library hosts a variety of family projects to encourage connection. The Jubilee culminates with a display of these family projects, including highlight celebrations from around the world, as well as celebrating some of our favorite winter stories.
  • Sweetheart Dance: In February, the Hutsell PTA hosts a night where students can invite a special adult to spend the evening dancing and playing games.
  • Read Across America: In March, the library participates in the national Read Across America program by providing reading activity ideas for classes and families to participate in throughout the week.
  • Family Paint Night: In May, the Hutsell PTA hosts a family paint night where families can get creative with one another.
